Naked elderly women and youths in Rivers state stage a peaceful protest asking the Rivers state government to release their son



The crisis arising from the demolition of Prodest Hotel took a twist on Monday following a disagreement between the Rivers state government and the hotelier, Promise Gogorobari, over the Covid-19 status of the hotel manager, Dr. Bariledum Azoroh. The state government had in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim, named Azoroh as one of the 27 new COVID-19 cases recorded in the state.   Naked elderly women and youths in Rivers state stage a peaceful protest asking the Rivers state government to release their son who is the manager of Prodest Hotel. The wife of the hotel manager, Dorothy Azoroh and older brother Isaac Azoroh said they was “more than the eyes can see in the sudden declaration” of their bread winner as Covid-19 carrier.  The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has deployed measures, some of them hard and controversial, including the demolition of the hotels, to halt the spread of the novel coronavirus in which some rights groups have condemned with one of them, SERAP, suing him at the ECOWAS court for violation of the rights of residents of the state.
