Corpse was brought in from Kano to Awka, Family members failed to isolate

A certain facebook user identified as Ifeoma Sophia Udeozor took to her facebook page to alert everyone on the danger posed in Umuike village, Awka by a family who brought in a corpse from Kano without going into isolation as directed by the Anambra State government. Remember that Governor Willie Obiano while lifting ban on burial rites said that corpses brought into Ananmbra state must be buried that day while those that escorted the corpse must go on 14days isolation. According to Sophia, the family of the deceased were mingling freely with people in the village and never bothered to isolate. Her words, "I have been reliably informed of a burial that happened at Umuike village Awka of a corpse that arrived from Kano 2 days ago. Maybe Nigerians think this virus is a joke that's why they brought in corpse from a highly infected place like Kano". Investigations from our correspondent shows that truly a corpse was brought in from Kano. According to the villagers, the deceased was a daughter of Nwude family in Umuike close to Oduenyi's compound. A family source who is a brother to the deceased refused his name being disclosed on air. He admitted that a corpse was brought in from Kano to Awka but was kept in an undisclosed morgue. He equally added that the deceased has not been buried. The Nwude family is close to Ezike village square, NYSC CDC project donated by Fatokunbo Gabriel. He said, "The deceased didn't die of COVID-19. I am a brother to the deceased who died at Abyaro specialist hospital Kano State. The deceased was diagnosed of cholera, she was treated by the hospital and she died in the same hospital. She has not been buried. She was married to Umuogbu, Machie family precisely so I direct you to take your investigations to umuogbu". Getting to Umuogbu Machie's compound at Agulu Avenue Awka, our correspondent met a fair lady who denied of any corpse being brought in from Kano. She said, "go round our compound and see if you will see any grave. Whoever that posted that trash on facebook is talking rubbish. had it been a have a smart phone, I would have lashed out on that person on facebook". She equally refused to give out the phone line or resident address of the deceased husband. Meanwhile, a man who claimed to have known every fact concerning the deceased said that the deceased died of cholera and that the people that escorted the corpse were screened at the border before they were granted passage. He claimed that those who brought in the corpse went into isolation and have not shown symptoms of any disease till date. He alleged that Anambra state police personnel, Onitsha chapter had arrested husband of the deceased, investigated him and found out that they didn't violate any directive on COVID-19. Nevertheless, the Anambra state police command said he was not aware of the matter, when our correspondent called him on phone. Could this family be lieing? If so, why are they hiding it?
