Barely few weeks after 8 passengers including a driver were burnt to death beyond recognition at Koko Area of Delta State, after a joint task force stationed at that axis chased a commercial bus driver conveying passengers from Koko Community who went for a burial ceremony.
According to the only survivor of the accident, identified as Esimaje, he said the sad incident happened after a group of joint task force flagged down the bus conveying them from Koko, as usual the driver who was already accustomed with the usual N100 requested from commercial bus driver as if is their birthright stretched it to the officer his, according to him after the officer checked the money seeing it was N100, he rejected it ordering the driver to make it N500. The confused driver was said to have alighted from the bus pleading with the officer to accept the N100, but all his plea fell on deaf ears. Frustrated by his action, the driver stepped into the bus and zoomehappeneupset by his action the officers jumped into their hilux and engaged the commercial bus driver on a chase unfortunately few minutes into the chase the commercial bus driver lost control and ran into a truck, the impact of the collision led to fire outbreak

Seven of the passengers including the driver burnt to death beyond recognition, while Esimaje the only survivor struggled his way out by Gods grace. According to Esimaje; he said after he made his way out of the bus which was already on fire, he saw the Hilux of the police officers reversing upon seeing what had happened, all this incident transpired at about 9pm
